FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything people ask us about America’s first ghee potato chip.

What is ghee — and why fry chips in it?

Ghee is clarified butter, used for generations in cooking for its rich, golden flavor and its ability to cook beautifully at high heat. We fry every Ghips chip in 100% grass-fed ghee sourced from Australian dairy cows. The result is a chip with a subtle buttery depth and a crisp finish — indulgent without tasting greasy, and unlike anything fried in standard oils.

Do Ghips contain seed oils?

No. Ghips are fried in grass-fed ghee — never in seed oils. No canola, no sunflower, no vegetable oil blends.

Are Ghips organic?

Our chips are made with USDA certified organic potatoes. The Churro flavor is also dusted with organic sugar and organic ceylon cinnamon. Ghips are free of seed oils and artificial ingredients.

What’s actually in a bag?

Our Sea Salt Original has exactly three ingredients: organic potatoes, 100% grass-fed ghee, and sea salt. That’s the whole list. Our other flavors add only what you can read — real black truffle (Tuber Aestivum), or organic sugar and ceylon cinnamon.

What flavors do you make?

Three: Sea Salt Original, Black Truffle (with real Tuber Aestivum), and Churro (organic sugar and ceylon cinnamon). Want to try them all? The Variety Bundle comes as a 12-pack at 20% off, or a $52 mixed 4-pack.

Is ghee lactose-free?

Ghee is butter with the milk solids removed, so it is virtually lactose-free — most of the lactose and casein are removed in clarification. Ghips do contain milk (ghee), so they aren’t certified dairy-free; if you have a dairy allergy, please check with your doctor first.

Are Ghips gluten-free, keto, or paleo-friendly?

Ghips are made without gluten ingredients — just potatoes, ghee, and simple seasonings (they aren’t currently certified gluten-free). As a real potato chip they’re not a low-carb snack, and whether potatoes and ghee fit your paleo is a call we’ll leave to you.

What’s the nutrition per serving?

A 1oz (28g) serving of Sea Salt Original: 130 calories, 6g total fat (3.5g saturated), 15g carbohydrates, 2g fiber, 0g sugar, 1g protein, 125mg sodium. Full nutrition facts for every flavor are in each product’s photo gallery.

How much is shipping?

U.S. shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address and order size — and it’s free on orders over $99. Subscribe & Save orders ship automatically every 4 weeks.

Why $13 a bag?

Certified organic potatoes and 100% grass-fed ghee cost several times what conventional potatoes and seed oils cost — that’s the honest math of the recipe. Every batch is fried small and shipped fresh, never warehoused. One taste of the difference is the best answer we have — and it’s backed by our 30-Day Happiness Guarantee.

What’s the 30-Day Happiness Guarantee?

If you don’t love them, we refund you — no returns, no forms, no fuss. Just email us within 30 days of delivery and we’ll make it right.

How fresh are Ghips when they arrive?

Small batch. Shipped fresh. Ghips are fried and packed in our California kitchen and shipped direct to you — not stored in a warehouse for months like conventional chips.

Why does my bag have room at the top?

Bags are filled by weight — a full 5oz (141g) in every bag — and flushed with nitrogen to protect freshness and crunch in transit. Contents can settle on the way to you, but the weight on the label is always inside.

Can I subscribe and save?

Yes — choose Subscribe & Save on any product page to get 15% off with delivery every 4 weeks. You can modify or cancel your subscription anytime; there’s no obligation.

Where can I buy Ghips in person?

Ghips are stocked at co-ops, farmers markets, and specialty grocers across the country. Use our Store Locator to find the shelf nearest you.

Do you offer wholesale or office snacks?

Both. Retailers can order through Faire or contact us directly. For workplaces, our Office Subscription delivers 18 bags every 4 weeks in any flavor mix — email wholesale@eatghips.com with questions.
